Officeless Code Intelligence for macOS

Install the menu bar bridge with app-icon branding, Sparkle auto-update, and Apple Intelligence on localhost port 8765. Required before VS Code sidebar chat or terminal chat.

Menu bar control plane

After install, click the Code Intelligence logo in the menu bar. The popover shows version 0.2.12+, bridge status on port 8765, Apple Intelligence readiness, recent VS Code requests, and Sparkle update controls.

Step 1 — Download

Click Download DMG above. The file is signed, notarized, and served from the release API.

Step 2 — Install

  1. Open the DMG and drag Officeless Code Intelligence into Applications.
  2. Launch the app from Applications. It runs as a menu bar agent (no Dock icon) with the Code Intelligence logo.
  3. If Gatekeeper blocks the app, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.

Step 3 — Verify the bridge

  1. Confirm the menu bar icon appears (the <i> code logo) and shows Apple Intelligence as the active provider.
  2. Updates arrive via Sparkle — quit and reopen, or use Check for Updates from the menu bar menu.
  3. Run a health check:
    curl http://127.0.0.1:8765/v1/status
